Monogrammed Plate

A friend of mine asked me to make a monogrammed plate for one of her friends birthday.
She gave me some of her friends colors in her house and this is what I came up with:

Vinyl Wedding Gift

My second cousin is getting married to another cousin's, wife's, brother this weekend (oh yeah think that one through! They really are not related I promise!)

My cousin's wife asked me to make them a wedding gift (I made her one in a previous post and this couple loved it) She gave me a 10 x13 frame and this is what I came up with:

  • The frame initally had a collage insert so I took it out and wrapped it with a piece of leftover dropcloth from another project and put it back in the frame.
  • Then I cut the lettering out of vinyl (black for the big "T" and brown for the rest) Don't you just love that "T"!!!!
  • I put all my vinyl on using the Hinge method because it was all so large and I think it turned out great! It's a tad off center but I'm probably the only one who will ever notice!

Mothers Day gift for Nana

Both Nana's got something a little special for mothers day this year. The picture quality is awful (taken with my phone in the back of my trunk!) but you get the idea!

Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 3

Candy bouquets

Sweet treats for a sweet teach!

Using  galvanized buckets I picked up in the Target $1 bin as the base:
  • I placed a circular foam flower insert in the bottom of the bucket. (It was snug and fit perfect so I did not even have to glue it down!)
  • I covered the foam with multiple layers of different colored tissue paper cut to size to hide the foam.
  • For the "flowers", I hot glued (low setting) an assortment of mini candy bars on small skewers used for kabobs.
  • I then tied curling ribbon on each one and stuck through the tissue paper and into the foam making a "flower" arrangement out of them.

Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 2

Framed Subway Art

I made this using power point and lot's of words I thought decribe this teacher. I used diffrent fonts for each word with her name in the middle using a diffrent color and then printed it out on cardstock that I already had.
The frame is a $4 Dollar General Frame.

The most tedious part of this project was getting the word placement right. It took me a while to get them all where I liked them but now I have a template for future teachers! I may also try one with wedding and baby words for an upcoming wedding and baby shower.

Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 1

Teacher Appreciation Week started yesterday, so this week I will be posting 5 days of Gift Ideas.

My son is 6 and was diagnosed with ADHD in December. He has had such wonderful support at school with his teacher; speech therapist and reading coach and they deserve a HUGE thank you plus so much more than I could ever give them!

Day 1 - Altered mini clipboard

Please forgive the awful picture! The colors are pink, orange and red!

Mable the Table

Once there was a little table named Mable. Mable lived all alone on a dingy back porch and was covered under boxes and piles of junk. One day a Crafty Chick came to Mable's house and decided to take her a way from her lonely life and bring her home to live with her family. After a nice bath, a little care to some boo boo's and a nice new outfit, Mable now lives surrounded by love and some times chaos in her new home, but is loving every minute of it...
